Vacation planning usually takes a lot of work, but a trip can be much more rewarding with some basic research. When choosing a place to visit there are a lot of factors to consider. How long will the vacation be? What is there to do? How expensive will the trip be? How long does it take to drive or fly there? How’s the weather at that time of year?

This web site attempts to answer these questions by identifying and illustrating some of the options for anyone thinking about travelling to California. The website is based on a timeline of one week, and includes cities in southern, central and northern California. While the information included is only a starting point for a vacation, the website takes a look at the areas of California I recently visited. As a university student, most of the options I’ve pointed to are geared towards a university-age demographic.

The main reasons California is so popular with students in British Columbia are weather, proximity, culture, and entertainment. With the Canadian dollar now valued near par or higher than the American dollar, many more students will consider California a potential vacation destination.
